Volubilis is wheel shaped, an echo to incas cosmogonies and cycle of time. The light source is knocked out of alignment so it pierces only a part of the disc, that you can pivot on its axis to examin it like you would a mineral.

why is this product sustainable?

  • composition

    Wheel in PET from recycled packaging - partially sourced from the cosmetic industry.

    Each wall light allows to recycle 1,2kg of plastic.

  • production location

    Plastic plaques are made in England.

    The cut and manufacturing of the hook are made in France, in Orléans.

    Electric component come from China (bulb, socket and switch) and Italy (cable and plug) - it's very difficult to do it any other way for now!

  • manufacturing

    The lamp is handmade.

  • economical & social impact

    For packaging, electric cabling, stocking, order preparation and expedition, Boutures d'Objets works with La Couronnerie ESAT in Orléans, which employs workers with disabilities.

  • packing & transport

    No plastic wrapping is used by Bouture d'Objets, who favors cardboard or paper to protect their items during transport.

  • end of life

    All materials are separable.

    Steel is recyclable and should be taken to a recycling center.

    Electric components should be brought to a DEEE collection point.

    Plastic is recyclable too, however there is not specific collection procedure for private individuals. If you wish to recycle your product, please contact us so we can figure it out together!
