With its pebble shape, the Dahlia lamp occupies a lot of space for a small height, making it ideal for low ceilings. Its slats, interlocking asymetrically, bring a unique desing and a more indirect, softer light.

why is this product sustainable?

  • composition

    100% french recycled cardboard wood.

  • production location

    Recycled cardboard wood plaques are sourced in Orléans, France.

    They are then transformed in the brand's workshop in Ungersheim, near Mulhouse, France.

    All electronic components come from the region of Turin, Italy - it's very difficult to do it any other way for now!

  • manufacturing

    The different pieces of the lamps are made with a laser cutting machine.

  • economical & social impact

    For now, KIDO hasn't taken any specific action on this, the workshop is still small and only Robin, the founder, and his sister Clélia work there.

  • packing & transport

    The DIY concept allows to reduce the size of packaging and hence to minimize transportation's carbon impact.

    The box, which is not printed, is made from recycled cardboard and assembled with a vegetal glue. It's fully compostable.

    When possible, old newspapers are upcycled to wedge lamps in place and protect them during transport.

  • end of life

    The lampshade in cardboard wood as well as the instructions are fully recyclable.

    Electric components have to be separated and should be brought to a DEEE collection point.

Who hides behind this product?

Created in 2018 by Robin, freshly graduated from architecture studies, and more recently taken over by his older sister Clélia, KIDO is a small workshop near Mulhouse in France.

Convinced that our way of living and buying must evolve, and that it's essential we reinvest already existing material instead of always producing new ones, Robin and Clélia experiment with different recycling techniques to manufacture lamps with everyday waste.
