why is this product sustainable?
-
composition
Wasterial made of 100% used material: a mix of oyster shell waste and a recycled resin.
Each lamp allows to recycle more than 2kg of mineral waste from oyster farming. -
production location
The lamp's shell is made in France, in the North department.
The lamp is then shaped, wired and packed in France in Loiret.
Electric component come from China (bulb, socket and switch) and Italy (cable and plug) - it's very difficult to do it any other way for now! -
manufacturing
The lamp is handmade.
-
economical & social impact
For packaging, electric cabling, stocking, order preparation and expedition, Boutures d'Objets works with La Couronnerie ESAT in Orléans, which employs workers with disabilities.
-
packing & transport
No plastic wrapping is used by Bouture d'Objets, who favors cardboard or paper to protect their items during transport. The same packaging for a given product is also reused throughout different stages of the production when possible.
-
end of life
Wasterials are recyclable in new Wasterials by the manufacturer.
If your product is broken, contact us and we'll find the best way to recycle it.
Who hides behind this product?
Laurence Saugé has imagined a company that reflects her beliefs and personality, a project where art, design, environmentalism, technique and innovation meet.
Boutures d’objets' collection is co-created with designers and thought like an incubator for creation, experimenting with new materials stemming from an abundant resource... our waste.
Rethink a high-end esthetic, do less but better, draw the future of handicrafts and industry... Boutures falls within slow design and invites to imagine a new approach of luxury and circular economy.
Made in small series, with emerging craftsmanship, our objects lead the way to a more conscious and respectful production.
